Radio: Eleven Eleven Until Eleven – Listen on Mixcloud

On Sunday evening’s I do a radio show on Mixlr. A few hours later, due to the magic of the internet and a bit of work, that show is on Mixcloud and available for everyone to listen to at their leisure at any time ever!
I’d embed it, but I’m not entirely sure how; so in the mean time, yesterday’s show features Foals, Brand New, Everything Everything, Japandroids, Yearbook, Johnny Foreigner, Crystal Castles, Annie Mac, Daughter, M83, Bloc Party and so much more. So please click HERE or on the image below to go ahead through to it. If you enjoy it, tweet me @bradenf to let me know

Today in Fireworks: Daughter and Yukon

Good evening all, I hope you’re enjoying your Sunday’s.
First of all, a quick reminder that my Mixlr Radio show will be live from 9-11pm tonight and followed by an album stream and requests through to midnight. I hope you can join me.

Anyone who’s had the pleasure of listening to and seeing Daughter over the last year will know what an enjoyable and borderline coma-inducing experience it is. The trio, led by the hugely talented Elena Tonra have been snapped up by indie-label 4AD and are preparing for the release of their debut record off the back of two gorgeous EPs (Here and Here.)
They played a short show at the CMJ in America last week and that show is now available to watch, so enjoy.

Now it wouldn’t be right to mention this without mentioning the artist who informed me that this show was now available online. The lovely Alec, also known as Yukon (Bandcamp here for a large amount of lovely music) is a NE Coast American artist who’s really very handy with an array of musical instruments. His song Lungs recently got a video created by the equally talented Patty Rentschler, who many of you will know for her array of work for and with Johnny Foreigner (especially this). My favourite track is below this short video and is called Bones.

tgtf: Live: Ben Howard at Shepherds Bush – 23/02

If you recall, I had one of the most incredible nights seeing Ben Howard the other week. I was somehow allowed side of stage for half the show and spent the rest of it running around like a mad man trying to find nice angles. Here’s the final product of that, my review on ThereGoesTheFear.

Daughter – His Young Heart EP

This isn’t a review. This isn’t a post about new music. This isn’t really a secret I’m unveiling either. It’s just a post about something that might have gone under people’s radars. Daughter are a kind of lovely breed of singer-songwriter meets a band in a more experimental method of folk. They’ve been supporting Ben Howard on tour for a while now which is how I came across them, so enjoy.
