It’s been quiet on here of late. Too quiet, but before we get attacked by a group of hipsters for having a quiet blog before it was cool to only post one thing a week, here’s a joyous piece of previously unheard material from Rose Elinor Dougall.
For those unfamiliar with her, Rose is an ex-Pipette, touring and recording with Mark Ronson (along with Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Brian Chase, Phantom Planet‘s Alex Greenwald, MNDR, The View‘s Kyle Falconer and occasionally Boy George and Miike Snow‘s Andrew Wyatt. A list of by no means, lesser session musicians) and solo artist with the delightful debut album Without Why.
This new EP, titled The Distractions EP features three tracks not featured on that album, and is apparently, not an indication for her new direction from an as of yet unnamed second record. The three track EP is available to listen to and download for free HERE and whilst not being on the debut album, is certainly not a trio of lesser tracks.
Meanwhile, enjoy this, Start/Stop/Synchro, a personal favourite from that first record, live in session with Groupee. Such a tight and lovely sound.
Enjoy it, hopefully we’ll be hearing a lot more from her this coming year.
Take care of each other
